An exciting position has arisen for a Health and Safety Adviser/Trainer to join a leading provider of advisory and training services throughout the South-East, based at our prestigious Management Training and Conference facility in Cosham.

This role combines two key elements of delivery;  One through working in a health and safety advisory capacity, guiding and supporting our customers in the development, implementation and management of their organisational health and safety policies and systems to ensure legal compliance.  The second is through the design and delivery of a range of health, safety and environmental courses, from NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH and First Aid, through to short courses such as Display Screen Equipment and Fire Wardens.

To succeed in this post you must be passionate about the value of good health and safety practice, possess the ability to engage with people, and be able to apply creative, innovative and practical techniques to developing and delivering services that present the benefits of health and safety in the workplace across a diverse range of industries.  You will have excellent presentation, communication and organisational skills, a sound working knowledge of health and safety, and hold a NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum.  Practical experience in the design and delivery of training, a teaching (PTLLS or equivalent) or environmental qualification, or CMIOSH status would be advantageous.

Delivery of services will be based either at our prestigious Management Training and Conference Centre or at individual employer premises, so you must be flexible to travel within the role, therefore, a full driving license and use of car is essential for this post.


Essential requirements for this role:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Practical experience in the application of health and safety
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Presentation/training skills
  • Organisational skills - ability to plan time effectively
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) proficient
  • Accurate report writing and record keeping skills
  • Full driving licence and use of own car
