Working with plastics you will learn how to programme a variety of 2D shapes using specialist software to produce components for manifolds, pipework bends and runs. You will select materials, programme tools and check patterns before machining.

Duties will include:

  • You will be trained how to set a 2 axis CNC router in order to fabricate and weld plastic assemblies
  • You will learn how to use a variety of power tools, including drills, cutting tools, files and other finishing tools
  • You will learn how to fabricate and weld assemblies to customers specifications
  • You will learn to reinforce assemblies with fibreglass as appropriate
  • You will become a critical member of IE Plastic’s warehousing and logistics operation by helping to offload deliveries, move materials, book materials in and assist in moving completed products onto delivery vehicles

Other information

  • The company is located at a remote industrial estate with minimal public transport.
  • You will need to ensure you are able to get yourself onsite and on time. Existing employees operate a car sharing scheme from the Havant / Waterlooville area
  • Suitable applicants will be interviewed at the earliest opportunity and this may be in advance of the vacancy closing date

Skills required:

  • Good, logical approach to problem solving
  • Awareness of health and safety issues regarding working in a dynamic environment
  • Good level of dexterity and skills in the use of hand tools
  • An interest in manufacturing
  • Ability to integrate with an established team

Personal qualities

  • You will demonstrate an attention to detail and the ability to plan activities and identify potential problems in advance
  • You will be focused, self-motivated, trustworthy and have a team player mentality
  • You will be self-disciplined and portray a willingness to assist the team achieve their departmental goals

Qualifications required

  • GCSE’s at grade C (4) or above in English and maths are desirable but not essential
  • Work experience in the sector is highly desirable
