Date released for next NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management

Article summary: The date has been set for the delivery of PETA’s next NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management, which will kick off on 22 March 2023.

Environmental management has become increasingly important in business in recent years as the fight against climate change escalates and organisations strive to reduce their carbon footprint. Many companies are signing up to carbon offset schemes, with some even aiming to achieve a net zero output.

The Environment Agency has committed to reaching net zero by 2030. In their report, they call the climate crisis “nature’s and humanity’s

biggest single challenge” and have adopted a tough, internationally-recognised definition of net zero, which encompasses both their direct emissions and those of their suppliers.

COP27 - Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC - took place in Egypt last month and saw country leaders from across the globe come together to continue working to achieve the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement, which was adopted at COP21 in Paris in 2015.

Comprehensive environmental management training is one of the ways that your business could take a positive step towards reducing your carbon output. Having a person - or people - within your organisation trained in the key areas will enable your business to implement a carbon reduction strategy and roll out a policy to get employees and partners involved.

The NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management is the qualification of choice for those looking to upskill to competent person status. It is ideal for those in a managerial or specialist environmental role with advisory and management responsibilities, but also relevant to those new to environmental management as no previous knowledge is necessary to join this course.
