The role will give you an opportunity to gain a full understanding about the commercial sales and purchasing operations used in a global business.

Sumika Polymer Compounds UK Ltd is part of a global company (Sumitomo Chemical Corporation) who manufacture reinforced thermo plastic for Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEMs) and 1st tier suppliers in the automotive industry; household appliances and Electronic and Electrical industries.

Duties will include:

Providing first class Purchasing administration support and customer service and support to all existing and new customers, responsible for both the pre and post order sales administration functions maintaining an excellent level of service.

  • Data Entry for transport orders report and subsequent data interrogation and management
  • Entry of sales budget onto ERP (enterprise resource planning) system for companywide visibility
  • Admin support to Purchasing Manager
  • Receipt and administration of all customer orders for relevant geographic area and appropriate liaison with customers;
  • Production of order acknowledgements and subsequent issue to internal/external customers;
  • Liaising with internal departments to problem solve queries;
  • Running queries/cost sheets as necessary;
  • Production of weekly diary for commercial department;
  • Preparation of export invoices and dispatch to customers;
  • Attendance of daily delivery meeting and production of subsequent report;
  • Full internal support to sales representatives;
  • Raising material forecasts, following liaison with sales representatives;
  •  Receive external telephone calls to main Company number and direct them to appropriate person.

Skills required:

  • This is an important role and requires a responsible, reliable and flexible ach approach, with the ability to work productively as part of a team, and be able to pick pick up tasks and work with minimal supervision
  • The ability to be organised and to meet deadlines is essential
  • Ability to use Outlook, Word and Excel is essential

  • Grade C or above in Maths and English
