Infrastructure Technician Level 3 (Standard)

Who is it for?

Ideal for those who are just starting out in an IT support role, or for existing staff who are either working within IT or have prior IT experience and are now required to take on more responsibility, work independently or lead IT projects.

Aimed at those who have an interest in or already work to:

  • provide IT support to internal or external customers
  • use tools to troubleshoot non-routine problems
  • set people up on systems
  • maintain the organisations productivity

An Apprenticeship will give you 80% on the job learning in your workplace and 20% off the job e.g. day release or block release learning with the training provider.

Objectives

On completion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve an Infrastructure Level 3 Certificate with knowledge modules covering:

  • Networking and Architecture
  • Mobile and Operating Systems
  • Cloud Services
  • Coding and Logic
  • Business Procedures

as well as:

  • One vendor or professional qualification selected from one of the knowledge modules
  • English Functional Skills Level 2 (if required)
  • Maths Functional Skills Level 2 (if required) certificate


Options following your Apprenticeship:

  • The Apprenticeship may turn into a permanent position
  • You could be offered a permanent position with an opportunity to undertake further specific work-related qualifications
  • With the experience gained, you may opt to find alternative employment
  • You might choose to continue your studies

  • Correct processes associated with WEEE (the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive)

  • Applies the basic elements and architecture of computer systems
  • Where to apply the relevant numerical skills e.g. Binary
  • Networking skills necessary to maintain a secure network
  •  Operating systems
  • Operate remotely, deploy and securely integrate mobile devices
  • Cloud and Cloud Services
  • Importance of disaster recovery and how a plan works
  • Coding and logic
  • Business IT skills and processes
