Frequently Asked Questions

Leaving school/college is a big thing and making the right decision on what to do next is a choice that only you and your family can make.

What is important is that you make that choice only when you understand all the options you have available to you - staying on at sixth form or going to College is not the only option.

What options do I have?

You have three options:

  • full-time education - eg at a school, college or other training organisation such as PETA
  • an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • part-time education or training - as well as being employed, self-employed or volunteering for 20 hours or more a week

How can I get an Apprenticeship?

PETA can help you get an Apprenticeship as we work closely with employers and find Apprenticeships for young people who are interested in a career within Business, Engineering or ICT.

To get started, apply with us now as we will need to meet with you to discuss your interests and find the right path for you.

How much do I get paid on an Apprenticeship?

By law you have to receive a national minimum wage which is set by the  Government and increases every year, you can view the current hourly rates

In many cases employers actually pay more than this and in some cases pay up to £270 per week,  The rate of pay also depends on the type of Apprenticeship you are doing.

Check out some rates of pay on our Apprenticeship vacancy page.

  • Business and Customer Services - Portsmouth
  • Engineering and Warehousing - Havant
