PUWER and Machinery Safety Awareness
In busy workshop environments, machines and equipment present significant risks if the practices surrounding use, care and maintenance are not fully appreciated or applied. This course, which is aimed at Managers and/or Supervisors who are responsible for work areas and staff, will provide the background to the Provision of Use at Work Equipment (PUWER) 1998 requirements.
Objectives
This course will greatly increase the understanding of hazards, safety measures and the legal issues surrounding machinery and equipment and on completion, delegates will;

Contribute to creating safer working practices and environment

Recognise the hazards associated with different types of equipment and be able to assess and determine whether equipment is suitable for safe use

Understand the requirements of the Provision of Use at Work Equipment (PUWER)1998 and how this applies to the work place
