PETA Training are proud to be working with PolarKold Distribution Ltd (Ferryspeed), looking to source an exceptional IT Technician Apprentice for their organisation.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Helpdesk Support / 1st Line Support Engineer / IT Technician, to learn new skills and progress within the IT field.

As an IT Technician you will be providing remote and on-site IT support to the UK team and the  Channel Islands - Jersey and Guernsey.  A progression opportunity will be offered for the successful candidate upon completion of their apprenticeship.


  • Answering helpdesk line
  • 1st line troubleshooting with the opportunity to work towards 2nd line
  •  Hardware installs / Maintenance (PC’s , laptops, printers,etc)
  •  Raising tickets on internal systems along with software vendors / suppliers.
  •  Provide remote support to Channel Islands branches.

  • Interest / Experience in Hardware, Software, Network (Routers / switches)
  •  Hardware / Software install, troubleshooting, repair experience or knowledge
  •  Hard working ethos and good time management skills

Personal qualities
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office 365 will be beneficial
Qualifications required
  • English and Maths GCSE’s grade A-C (4-9)


  •  20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Progression opportunity
  •  L3 Infrastructure Technician qualification upon completion of the apprenticeship
  •  ITIL qualification and 4 MTA certificates
Future prospects
  • A progression opportunity will be offered for the successful candidate upon completion of their apprenticeship
Training to be provided
  • This position is offered as an apprenticeship and you will be completing a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician qualification
  • Most of your training will be completed in the workplace, however, throughout the duration of the apprenticeship you will be required to attend classroom-based sessions for off the job training
  • You will have regular reviews with your PETA Learning and Development Coach who will be able to offer help and advice to ensure the successful completion of your qualification
