Smallworld IT are working with PETA to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised individual to join the team as a Business Administration Apprentice. Our clients are busy people, and you will remain highly responsive to their needs. Training to be provided

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

About the role

Joining the team as a Business Administration Apprentice, you will report into the Managing Director. In your new role, you will be supporting the business directors & management. As you develop in your position, you will take on responsibilities including:

  • Assisting colleagues in day-to-day business
  • Answering and directing telephone calls
  • Responding to general customer enquiries
  • Logging customer requests
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Managing the CRM System
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Managing suppliers
  • General accounting


Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:30 (40 hours per week)

Essential skills

The role of Business Administration Apprentice will suit an extremely enthusiastic individual who is looking to start their career within a fast moving and varied environment. The ideal applicant will also have the following skills and experience:

  • A good standard of education and a high standard in written English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills in all aspects of the business
  • Confident with speaking on the telephone & face to face; excellent telephone manner
  • Good IT Skills; the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to use initiative and to be proactive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to use social media sites to support with Marketing

To be considered for the role, you will also require GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade 4/C.

Desirable skills

  • An interest in the IT industry will be advantageous
