PETA Ltd are proud to be working with a leading lighting design and manufacturer to recruit a UK Sales Administrator Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to provide administration support to Sales Managers regarding order placement, stock and pricing enquiries, product marketing, database management and general administration.

There is the intention for a full-time role to be offered to the successful and suitable candidate upon completion of the apprenticeship. There are excellent prospects for future progression.

Training to be provided

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

About the role

  • Joining the team as a UK Sales Administrator Apprentice, you will have the following duties and responsibilites:
  • Process orders placed by phone, email and fax, calculate carriage costs and send sales order confirmations to customers
  • Keep customers / prospects CRM database and files up to date and tidy to ensure a full record of activities is available
  • Send out catalogues to customers
  • Send credit application forms to customers and liaise with finance in the set-up of new customer accounts
  • When required, send proforma invoices and agree payment terms with customers, keeping finance advised of the payment status of orders
  • Issue customers with SOR forms / quotations for repairs
  • Telesales; make calls to introduce the company, obtain contact details and arrange sales visits
  • Liaise with production and dispatch to make sure that orders are dealt with efficiently
  • Make sure samples sent to prospects are purchased or returned and a clear audit trail is maintained to ensure products are not lost
  • Practicipate in daily routine of the office by answering the phone, taking messages, photocopying, franking post and covering for colleagues on leave
  • Provide general administration support to the Sales Department as required
  • Maintain effective records as per requirements of ISO system
  • CRM communication reports and adhoc reports as requsted

Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (35 hours per week with 1 hour for lunch). Please note that the company are planning to move to a brand-new office facility in Waterlooville in 1 year.

Essential skills

The ideal applicant for the UK Sales Administrator Apprentice role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent IT skills and the confidence to take on and use new systems ; experience using MS Office
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Keyboard skills
  • Ablility to follow and carry out simple instructions
  • Ability to interact well with people and work as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to agreed time scales

To be considered for the role, you will also require GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade 4/C.
