This is an excellent opportunity to kickstart a career in Sales and Account Management.  The Sales Support Administrator Apprentice will assist with selling the products and services of PEI Genesis and meeting specific sales targets.  Working in conjunction with internal Departments and Regional Sales Managers, the Sales Support Administrator Apprentice will ensure successful development and growth of existing accounts and new business.

The suitable and successful candidate will move into a full-time role upon completion of the apprenticeship.

By the end of the apprenticeship, the Sales Support Administrator Apprentice will be expected to:

  • Meet defined sales and gross profit targets.
  • Handle customer interaction in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Understand business expectations.
  • Be productive and motivated.

Duties

The Sales Support Administrator Apprentice will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with selling PEI Genesis products and services.
  • Preparing quotations and following through to secure order.
  • Keeping regular contact with customers in order to maintain and increase account base penetration.
  • Acting as first point of contact for customer technical enquiries and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure resolution of enquiry.
  • Developing and maintaining basic knowledge of PEI Genesis products.
  • Maintaining close working relationship with Regional Sales Managers and Inside Sales Representatives to increase depth of coverage in account base and accompany on customer visits.
  • Increasing account base through proactive calls and research of all available sources.
  • Maintaining customer database.
  • Verifying orders are processed correctly and ensuring that any orders which require special handling are dealt with accurately.
  • Assisting with preparing forecasts and activity reports for management to assist in achieving sales goals.
  • Actively using monthly sales reports to identify activities required to ensure continued sales growth and focus.

It is essential that the Sales Support Administrator Apprentice is honest and respectful. Other essential qualities include:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Numeracy skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and volume.

Personal qualities
  • Product/Industry knowledge or experience is preferable.
  • Experience of working on a sales order processing computer system preferable.
  • Experience in a sales environment or customer service role is desirable.
Qualifications required
  • GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required.

Training to be provided

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
