The Associate Product Manager Apprentice position is designed to allow an individual to develop the necessary skills and knowledge needed to become a Product Manager by managing a smaller number of product lines and by playing a crucial part in day to day operations. The Associate Product Manager Apprentice will support the Product Managers in all aspects of the Product Management process.

The primary focus is on maintaining systems, developing materials, and pricing. The Associate Product Manager Apprentice is also responsible for both product planning and product marketing for their range of product lines. It includes working closely with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Associate Product Manager Apprentice role also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

Duties

The Associate Product Manager Apprentice will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Product Managers
  • Helping to set up pricing and delivery in the system.
  • Setting up product codes.
  • Creating billing materials.
  • Supporting with the management of projects from conception to customer handover.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing to develop materials such as brochures and flyers.
  • Working with Purchasing to support with inventory and stock rotations.
  • Establishing, maintaining and developing effective relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Assisting with annual price sheet set up.

Skills

It is essential that the Associate Product Manager Apprentice has excellent teamwork skills. Other essential qualities include:

  • Microsoft Office proficiency with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Europe and the USA.
Personal qualities
  • Experience within Product/Marketing, either through a work role or relevant qualifications.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting electrical/electronic products.
  • Second language in German or French preferred, but not essential.
Qualifications required
  • GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required

Future prospects

There is potential for the role to become permanent on completion of the apprenticeship. Following further training and development, there may be an opportunity for the right applicant to progress and become an Associate Product Manager within this fast moving and very successful global organisation.

Training to be provided

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
