Reporting to the Human Resources Advisor, the HR Administrator Apprentice will provide administrative support to the HR department. This is a varied, hands on office-based position in a fast paced, hands on environment which requires flexibility, enthusiasm, accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
Due to the nature of working in an HR team, this position will work within clearly defined processes and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements. The HR Administrator Apprentice will be required to make empowered decisions referring major issues to the HR team for approval.
This role requires working in partnership with all other departments in the business, at all levels including closely working with our training and development team and Reception area.
The HR Administrator Apprentice will be responsible for providing adminsitrative support to the HR department. Duties to include:
Recruitment coordination and administration
Preparing onboarding documentation
Supporting delivery and coordination of Induction
Supporting with email enquiries to the HR team
Coordination of Occupational Health/Medical appointments
Coordination of HR meetings/Works Council meetings/Stop & Search
Leaves of absence administration
Leaver processing and archiving
Administration support to the HR team including reference requests, change of address and bank details
Transcribing meeting minutes
Maintaining up to date employee files and systems
Coordinating updates for Company benefits
Annual document reviews – Expression of wish, change of address, driving license
Photocopying and Filing
Support with company events and communications including weekly brief, Long Service Awards and Laleham Loves it
Booking meeting rooms and supporting with training coordination
Carry out any associated projects/requirements as determined by the HR team
Laleham Health and Beauty are a large growing business, operating over three production sites, within the field of toiletries, pharmaceutical, medical device and nutritional. Within the beauty area we cover a range of categories including body care, skincare, hair care and styling. Working with a variety of blue chip, high street retailers and brand owners across masstige and premium markets mainly within the UK, although our customer portfolio is global in sales.
It is essential that the HR Administrator Apprentice is an excellent communicator, both verbally and written. Other essential criteria include:

Administration and customer service experience
A basic knowledge and understanding of the principles of relationship building, customer focus, communication, teamwork and flexibility
Experience in working as part of a team
Energetic and inquisitive
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal confidently with a wide range of people from different departments and levels of the business and within customer accounts.
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload in order to deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines
Systems driven with experience of Microsoft packages, using databases and accurate typing/computer skills
Have an understanding of the necessity of confidentiality
Be a good listener, able to respond to customer and market requirements and willing to take the initiative where appropriate
Have the ability to apply tact and discretion in the handling of sensitive material and confidential information
Be a proactive self-starter with drive and ambition to have your work truly make a difference
Be enthusiastic and genuinely committed to providing excellent customer service and discretion
GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required.

There is the potential for a full-time permanent position to be offered to the suitable and successful candidate upon completion of the apprenticeship.
Training to be provided
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
