Apprenticeship summary:

Are you looking to develop a career as a digital communications and marketing professional? You will join the External Relations team as a Marketing & Communications Apprentice in a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school, creating digital content for school social media channels, website, and newsletters and support the implementation of communications and marketing plans for the three Bedales Schools - Pre-prep, Prep and Senior.

Key audiences include pupils, parents, staff, prospective pupils and parents, donors, alumni and school partner organisations. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to start a career in marketing and communications, focusing on digital, and in particular, social media and website development.


You will take part in various tasks and projects where you can learn more about digital content creation, copywriting, photography, video production, social media platforms, website development, Search Engine Optimisation and email communications campaigns. You will also assist in the organisation and planning of events and exhibitions, developing your project management skills.

Personal qualities
  • Experience within a customer orientated role and environment 
  • Photography and video skills – producing and editing and use of appropriate software such as Photoshop and Video Premier Pro
  • Use of social media management software such as Buffer and associated analytics
  • Use of website content management systems such as Drupal.
Qualifications required
  • GCSE in Maths and English at grade A*-C / 4-9
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
