Apprenticeship summary:

This is a great opportunity to join the dedicated IT team of Priory School. This role is right for anyone who is looking to progress into Helpdesk Support / 1st Line Support Engineer / IT Technician, to learn new skills and develop within the IT field.

This role is a fantastic first step towards working in IT support in a school environment. You will be working closely with IT colleagues in all technical disciplines to share knowledge, ensure consistency and improve service levels and support.

Duties

You will be responsible for assisting in all aspects relating to the care and maintenance of computing, audio, visual, printers and other IT

equipment across the School. You will provide first line helpdesk support to students and staff for hardware, software, audio-visual, printers and other IT equipment.

You will be also assisting with the setting up, maintenance and repair of computers, audio visual equipment, computer-linked equipment and computer-related equipment.

Skills

  • Interest / experience in IT and willingness to learn
  • A highly organised individual who works well under pressure
  • Good numeracy and mathematical skills
Personal qualities
  • An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills to develop relationships with people at all levels.
Qualifications required
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths grade A* - C (4 – 9)

Future prospects
  • There is opportunity for a full time role once the apprenticeship has been completed. 
Training to be provided

Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend one of PETA training centres for off-the-job training. The majority of training will be completed with your employer at your place of work. You will be completing the Information Communication Technician – Support Technician apprenticeship.
