This is a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to gain experience in a leading Practice, from helping on reception to making patient calls and clinical coding. The Data Facilitator Administrator Apprentice will support the Practice and GPs by implementing document management optimisation protocols for all documentation coming into the Practice. They will also manage the recall of patients for chronic disease management and other forms of recall. Other duties to include supporting with the administration of prescription requests and providing support to the Reception team.
Read, scan, code and action all documentation coming into the Practice in relation to patients in line with the set protocal for document management
Ensure actions are completed by clinicians in a timely mannger and escalate to the Practice Manager / Assistant Practice Manager where appropriate
Arrange further appointments or test as required
Carry out searches, audits and recalls as required by the doctors, nurses and manager
Support the administration of prescription requests coming into the Practice
Provide telephone Reception support and Reception cover
Administration of nursing team rota and publishing to EMIS
Recall system chronic disease management
Liase with primary care network home visiting service
The Portchester Practice has been providing primary care to the residents of Portchester since the late 60’s. At the moment the practice has 5 GP partners (owners), 3 salaried GP’s, 4 nurses and 2 healthcare assistants. All are supported by a non clinical reception/administration team. Together we provide care for just over 10,000 patients.
The ideal Data Facilitator Administrator Apprentice will have a long-term interest in the medical industry. They will also have the following skills and experience:

Strong communication skills
Due to the confidential nature of the role, applicants must be aged 18+.
GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required.

The Data Facilitator Administrator Apprentice will be joining a data team of 2, therefore there is the opportunity to learn from and be supported by experienced members of staff. The Practice also have prior experience of successfully training apprentices. There is the intention for a full time role to be offered to the successful and suitable applicant upon completion of the apprenticeship. This role has been created with future career prospects in mind.
Training to be provided
Training to be provided: Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
