Inspire Home Automation Ltd have an exciting new opportunity within the business for a Level 3 Software Development Technician apprenticeship. We are looking for an individual to join our small team who has a can-do attitude, a positive approach, and patience to take on tasks that are given.
Due to the nature of the role there will be many testing to do on the products, this will require patience and the ability to record all the testing in word and excel and be able to articulate this back to the directors.
Inspire Home Automation is a UK based electronics manufacturer based in Wimborne in Dorset that specialise in Smart Thermostat technology. We are a small team and are looking for an apprentice that is interested in learning all aspects of the business and grow with us!
Providing support to the Product development team, assisting with product testing and coding as well as writing product test scripts
You will be working closely with the company directors and will assist with other Adhoc duties within the Product Development team and will be given the opportunity in learning website-based software including SQL database.
Included in the role you will be taught how to assemble our products and learn about stock management.
Assist the product development team with day to day requirements
Coding – Primarily C
The company is located at a remote industrial estate with minimal public transport
High attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Office an advantage
Must have excellent IT skills and the confidence to take on and use new systems
Good communication skills and telephone manner
Able to follow and carry out simple instructions
Able to interact well with people and work as part of a team
Eager and willing to learn
Organised and articulate
Wants to be part of a growing company and learn all aspects of the business
Maths GCSE Grades A – C / 4 – 9 or Functional Skills Level 2
English GCSE Grades A – C / 4 – 9 or Functional Skills Level 2
20 days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Progression routes are available with the business in either development, sales or design
Training to be provided:
Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend one of PETA training centres for off-the-job training. The majority of training will be completed with your employer at your place of work.
You will work towards the following qualifications:
Software Development Technician Level 3
Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required)
