IT Apprentice Technician

Apprenticeship summary:

The successful applicant will join our IT team in the Portsmouth depot, dealing with IT issues in-house and supporting our Channel Island branches remotely.

We are a privately owned freight company founded in 1985 recruiting for shipping clerk position to join our ever-growing team. We provide a door to door service of all commodities to the Channel Islands and locations throughout the UK.

Duties

  • Answering helpdesk line
  • 1st line troubleshooting
  • Office 365 administration
  • Basic administration of our Freight forwarding software – FCL
  • Hardware installs / Maintenance (PC’s / printers etc)
  • Raising tickets on internal systems along with software vendors / suppliers
  • Provide remote support to Channel Islands branches

Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems
  • Interest / Experience in Network (Routers / switches)
  • Application installation
  • Hardware install experience - (Building / Install of PC’s and components)

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A*-C (Grade 4 to 9) including English and Maths

Training to be provided:

Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend one of PETA training centres for off-the- job training.  The majority of training will be completed with your employer at your place of work.

You will be completing Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship along with the following qualifications:

  • Microsoft (MTA) Networking Fundamentals
  • Microsoft (MTA) Mobility and device Fundamentals
  • Microsoft (MTA) Server Admin
  • Microsoft (MTA) Software development Fundamentals
  • ITIL Foundation V4
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required)
