Reach Truck Accident leads to £50,000 fine
A company has been fined £50,000 after a worker’s foot was run over by a reach truck in a bundling warehouse.
After investigation of the accident (which resulted in broken bones and bruising), whilst it emerged the injured employee was not wearing appropriate safety boots when the incident happened, better organisation of workplace transport in an area where transport and pedestrians were not segregated may have prevented the incident occurring in the first instance.
