New ISO 45001 standard publication is delayed
According to an update on the International Standardisation Organisation's website, the publication date of ISO 45001, the new international audit standard for occupational health and safety, has been extended again.
Final publication is now due in December 2017, which is some 18 months later than the original planned timetable. The update also suggests that the next draft version will be available for consultation in January 2017, with the finalised text published in September 2017.
However, Richard Jones, head of policy and public affairs at IOSH and a member of ISO Project Committee 283, which is drafting the standard, has stressed that this could be a "worst case scenario" and the Committee is hopeful that ISO 45001 can still be published by June 2017.
Our ISO45001 - An Introduction course will be a great way to consolidate any new information and help put this in to practice. Dates will be updated as soon as the standard is published.
