PETA Ltd announces retirement of long standing CEO Bob Hiskey
PETA Ltd says a sad but fond farewell to its’ Director and CEO, Bob Hiskey, who retires at the end of December 2017 after more than 42 years of dedicated service to the company.
Bob has been the Director and CEO since August 1997. He joined PETA in 1975 as a Training Officer just 5 years after the company was founded and based in Southsea. Bob, who started his career as an engineering apprentice, brought an overwhelming enthusiasm and desire to ensure all Apprentices and their respective employers received a highly professional level of support and at that time his role was fundamental in ensuring companies accessed the Governments’ training levy. He then went on to develop courses to raise the skills of employed staff which was a great success. He has helped thousands of young people make the transition to a successful career and thousands more employed staff raise their skills over the years. This continues to be the main purpose of the company today.
“I am grateful to have spent nearly 43 years with this great company, and deeply honoured to have had the opportunity to lead it for the last 20 years. I am very proud of what we have accomplished during this time.” said Bob. “I leave many loyal friends and colleagues who have always given me their utmost support for which I am very grateful. However, whilst my heart is, and will always be, with PETA it is time for me to open the door to a new chapter in my life which I hope will be as enjoyable and rewarding as the one I am about to close.”
The Chairman of PETA Ltd, Nick Loader, CEO of DP World Southampton, commented “The Council is extremely grateful to Bob for his 42+ years of service to the company. From a personal perspective it has been a pleasure working with Bob over the last 10 years. Bob has made an enormous contribution to make PETA the successful organisation it is today. Bob’s retirement is very well deserved and we hope it will be a long and happy one.”
Bob added “I leave the company in the extremely good hands of Huw Chapman. Huw has known PETA for many years and has always held the organisation in high esteem. I am therefore delighted that he has accepted our offer of employment and feel confident that he has the necessary skills and experience to lead, shape and inspire PETA Limited to even greater success”.
Huw Chapman has a wide experience of industry and was previously the Managing Director of Pall Europe Limited. In his earlier years, Huw studied at Portsmouth Polytechnic (now Portsmouth University) where he obtained a BSC (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. In more recent years he has achieved a level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (FCIPD).
