Engineering Showcase Event at PETA
We recently held an Engineering showcase event where our talented second-year BTEC apprentices, who are currently on NVQ Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeships, reveal their work.
The event gives their employers a chance to both see and hear about the work that the apprentices have undertaken during the course of the day-release Diploma in Engineering BTEC.
The apprentices were joined by employers from Portsmouth Aviation, Protool, Saacke and DKW.
A huge thank you to the employers who came along on the day to listen to the presentations and inspect the work and congratulations to the apprentices who showcased their work.
From Portsmouth Aviation Employers; Graham Knight, Paul Newell, Rob Baker came to see the work of their apprentices; Luke Mihell and Oliver McCormack
Protool employer Steve Hall came along to see apprentice Elliott Hogg's project. Saacke employer Mark Badger enjoyed viewing the work of their apprentice Josh Rendle. DKW employer Daniel Lacubucci saw the work of apprentice Alex Murray
Apprentices Charlie Thorn and Matthew Moody from Lewmar, Joey Preston of Engle and Michael Redhead of Portsmouth Water also showcased their work to the employers.
"Just a quick note to thank you for the invite to the very worthwhile B Tec presentation, speaking with Elliot it was a valuable experience for him to present his project in that forum and the standard of work was high from all the students I spoke to. Thanks once again!"
Steve Hall, Protool Manufacturing
"The apprentices did a great job presenting their chosen projects. They all showed an extremely high level of enthusiasm and knowledge when describing in depth what they have done, the reason for doing so and how they went about it. PETA put on a great day for the apprentices and employers and found it highly beneficial for both parties."
Daniel Iacobucci, Financial Director, DKW Precision Engineering
"It was clear the Apprentices had put a lot of thought & effort into their projects & were able to explain their reasoning behind their concepts. Their presentations were professionally organised and presented. It is nice to see in this present climate enthusiastic young engineers with the support of PETA bringing fresh ideas to the workplace."
