If your organisation pays the Apprenticeship Levy, you now have an excellent opportunity to build your safety, health and environmental competence in the workplace. 

PETA is pleased to announce a new apprenticeship, Safety, Health and Environment Technician, which offers a structured programme of support, including off-the-job training, enabling organisations to use levy funding to develop essential knowledge, skills and behaviour in:

  • SHE Management systems
  • Hazards and risks; identify, evaluate, controls
  • Inspections and monitoring systems
  • Accident/ incidents; causation, prevention, investigation and reporting
  • SHE advice and practical assistance
  • Promoting a safety culture

The business case for a SHE Technician is clear

  • These skills support the embedding of a safety culture in your business
  • Identifies and controls hazards and risks to reduce the potential for incidents and accidents
  • Promotes compliance with legislation – a competent person to advise on SHE issues
