SHE Breakfast Briefing | Friday 24th April
Our breakfast briefings are designed for those responsible for Health and Safety in the workplace, offering a chance to stay ahead of emerging trends while gaining practical, hands-on knowledge that can be applied immediately. This April, we’ll focus on two essential areas: understanding why psychological safety matters in H&S, and learning simple, effective techniques to encourage participation and speaking up. Through interactive discussions, real-world examples and guided activities, participants will gain clear, actionable tools they can apply immediately in their day-to-day roles.
Led by our specialist trainer, Tom Cleary, the session will blend expert insight with practical applications to ensure attendees leave more confident, informed, and equipped to support safer conversations at work
The session will be split into 2 parts with a break in the middle:
Psychological Safety and Why It Matters:
This session introduces the core ideas behind psychological safety and why it influences whether people raise concerns, share ideas, or challenge something that doesn’t feel right. We’ll look at what helps a group feel safe enough to speak honestly, what tends to shut people down, and how these dynamics show up in any workplace. The session will be interactive so participants can draw on their own context and experience to explore how this applies in their roles.
Encouraging Participation and Speaking Up:
This session focuses on practical ways to invite contribution, build trust, and make it easier for people to speak up. We’ll explore simple, realistic techniques for encouraging engagement in conversations and group settings, along with ways to respond constructively when someone raises a concern. Participants will have opportunities to bring in their own examples and scenarios so the discussion becomes directly relevant to their day-to-day work.
