Course overview

Apprenticeship units are short, flexible training programmes designed to help employers quickly upskill their workforce in critical skill areas.

This level 5 leadership unit will help learners to ensure AI is introduced safely, ethically, and effectively with structured governance and informed decision-making.

Over the course of 7 training sessions, learners will focus on the frameworks and processes required to adopt AI responsibly. Learners will develop the skills to evaluate suppliers, implement governance controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

By the end of this unit, learners will be able to:

  • Evaluate AI tools, suppliers, and implementation approaches
  • Establish governance and assurance frameworks
  • Manage risk, compliance, and ethical considerations
  • Support organisation-wide adoption through clear policies and communication
  • Ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to business needs

To be eligible, learners must be aged 19+ and in full-time employment. Individuals currently undertaking an apprenticeship cannot enrol on Apprenticeship Units. Funding may be available through Apprenticeship Levy or government funding,
