Course overview
This course gives employees the practical confidence to handle fire extinguishers safely on-site, equipping them with real, hands-on experience that can support a safe exit in an emergency. Delegates also learn how to act as effective fire wardens, identifying risks early, supporting a fast and orderly evacuation, and helping protect people and property.

- Practical experience in the safe use of a fire extinguisher
- Fire chemistry and how fires spread
- Causes and classes of fire
- Heat and ignition sources
- Methods of fire extinction and fixed firefighting equipment
- Emergency escape planning and effective evacuation
- A fire warden’s duties during an incident
- Hazard spotting and risk reporting
- Conducting drills, exercises and evacuation tests
