This is an excellent opportunity working as part of a team you learn to specify and configure pump sets to meet customer briefs. The role will include completing proposals identifying suitable pumps, flange sets, vessels, valves and control systems

We are friendly customer focussed business we specialise in the manufacture of packaged pump sets for pressure boosting and water transfer applications. Duties will include:

  • Wage is negotiable depending on experience of up to £14,250
  • Learn how to complete detailed proposals
  • Work with the sales team to ensure that post sale customer expectations are met
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of components and their applications
  • Learn how to use Auto-Cad to produce engineering drawings for internal and subcontract use
  • Design and configure pump sets for a range of customer specified applications
  • Develop existing products utilising your innovative approach to problem solving
  • Create Bills of Materials and technical documentation to support the manufacturing process
  • Work in partnership with suppliers to make sure that externally sourced parts arrive on site in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the workshop team to ensure manufacturing milestones are met

  • The company are located on the Waterlooville industrial estate, you must be able to get yourself here on time reliably

  • This role will could involve some travel to client sites (with colleagues).

Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend PETA’s Havant training centre for off-the-job training. The majority of your development training will be completed with your employer at your place of work. You will be employed whilst you are completing your apprenticeship this will include 18 months of day release training at PETA Ltd where you will complete your Level 2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) qualification. This will include:

  • Producing CAD models (drawings) using a CAD system
  • Conducting business improvement activities
  • Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
  • Maintaining electrical equipment/systems
  • Maintaining electronic equipment/systems
  • General turning, milling and welding applications
  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques
  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety
  • Working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
  • Using and communicating technical information
  • Conducting business improvement activities
  • You will then pass through the foundation Gateway and progress onto your Level 3 development programme and complete:
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)
  • EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)

Skills required:

  • Your excellent communication skills will enable you to develop into a role where the ability to effectively communicate on a technical level with peers and management is crucial
  • Your logical approach to problem solving will enable you to make a good contribution to all aspects of the job
  • Have a good level of IT literacy, competent using MS Office
  • You will need to be productive when working as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision
  • Rounded individual

  • Objective when making decisions

Qualifications required:

  • Maths GCSE minimum C grade
  • English GCSE minimum C grade
  • Science (desirable)
  • Engineering Qualifications will be looked upon favourably
