You will learn about receiving goods and undertaking pre delivery inspections on a range of UPS and Generators. You will complete paperwork and make database entries identifying any faults and reporting them the engineering team. You will move/store asset’s onsite and deliver UPS to customer sites.

Duties will include:

  • You will be orientated around all aspects of the Powertecnique’s business including project management, procurement, build, installation and maintenance.
  • You will gain an overview of Powertecnique emergency power solution products including UPS and Generators.
  • Complete pre-delivery inspections on a range of UPS and Generators
  • Undertake visual checks and undertake performance tests
  • Learn how to identify faults on UPS and Generators and report them to the responsible person
  • Comply with the quality management system ensuring all documents and processes are ISO 9001 compliant.
  • Liaise with the Project team and engineers ensuring that UPS and Generators and consumables are available when required
  • Move store and deliver UPS and Generators as required

Other information:

  • The company is located on Segensworth industrial estate, you must be able to get yourself here reliably.

The majority of training will be completed with your employer at your place of work. You will also be required to attend PETA’s Havant training centre for off-the-job training (depending on your existing qualifications). On the job training will be provided by Powertecnique as part of a 13 month period of on the job training designed to meet the job requirements.

You will work towards the following qualifications:

  • The Performing Manufacturing Operations NVQ at Level 2.
  • You will produce evidence to meet the following activities:
  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • Contributing to effective team working
  • Transferring materials
  • Receiving and checking incoming materials
  • Carrying out inspection and testing activities
  • Recording and reporting inspection and test results
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

You will also complete the level 2 VRQ in Environmental Awareness. During this time you will also complete the ERR-01 booklet and functional skills at level 1 (if required) in Maths, English.

Skills required:

  • A basic understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Your communication skills will enable you to develop into a role where the ability to effectively communicate with peers and management is crucial.
  • Have an eye for detail
  • You will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision
  • Be IT literate

Personal qualities:

  • You will have a ‘Can Do’ attitude to work with a willingness to use your own initiative
  • Your enthusiasm motivation and drive will be among your best appreciated assets
  • You will be methodical with good decision making skills

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Full driving licence required
