This is an excellent opportunity working as part of small team learning how to design and configure ventilation filtration solutions to customer briefs. This will include undertaking flow and performance calculations and producing quotes for customers.

We are friendly customer focussed business who specialise in the design and manufacture of specialised ventilation products. This will be for intake and water removal applications in Marine and Industrial environments.

Duties will include:

  • Wage is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience of up to £16K
  • Learn how to complete detailed quotes
  • Work with the sales team to ensure that post sale customer specifications are met
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Veotec / Wozair products and their applications
  • Develop existing products utilising your innovative approach to problem solving
  • Create Bills of Materials and technical documentation to support the manufacturing process
  • Work in partnership with suppliers to make sure that externally sourced parts arrive on site in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the workshop team to ensure manufacturing milestones are met

  • The company are located on are remote Alton industrial estate, you must be able to get yourself here reliably and on time
  • The company wants you to buy into their work philosophy
  • This role will could involve some travel to client sites (with colleagues).
  • Being keen and enthusiastic is important along with your current level of engineering knowledge

Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend PETA’s Havant training centre for off-the-job training.  The majority of your development training will be completed with your employer at your place of work. You will be employed whilst you are completing your apprenticeship this will include 18 months of day release training at PETA Ltd where you will complete your Level 2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) qualification. This will include:

  • Producing CAD models (drawings) using a CAD system
  • Conducting business improvement activities
  • Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment                   
  • Maintaining electrical equipment/systems                            
  • Maintaining electronic equipment/systems
  • General turning, milling and welding applications      
  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques           
  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety 
  • Working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
  • Using and communicating technical information
  • Conducting business improvement activities
  • You will then pass through the foundation Gateway and progress onto your Level 3 development programme and complete:
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)
  • EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)

Skills required:

  • Your excellent communication skills will enable you to develop into a role where the ability to effectively communicate on a technical level with peers and management is crucial
  • Your logical approach to problem solving will enable you to make a good contribution to all aspects of the job
  • Have a good level of IT literacy, competent using MS Office
  • You will need to be productive when working as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision
  • Rounded individual

  • Objective when making decisions
  • Possess a strong will to learn
  • You will be methodical with a good eye for detail.

Qualifications required:

  • Maths GCSE minimum C grade
  • English GCSE minimum C grade
  • Science (desirable)
  • Engineering Qualifications will be looked upon favourably
