An independent thinker you will provide day to day engineering support. Evaluating problems and recommending and implementing solutions to meet or ideally exceed customer expectations.
You will help to maintain the pace of production while maintaining the Original Equipment Manufacturers standards by liaising with various teams and departments.

H+S Aviation and sister company Dallas Airmotive, are OEM-certified and dedicated to providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services for small gas turbine and turbofan engines used in aviation. Their authorisations cover the majority of turbine engine models powering fixed and rotary wing aircraft used for business aviation, and many of the engines used in government, military and commercial applications. Duties will include:

  • Maintain, re-write and update repair schemes and routes taking account of all associated issues ie processes involved, sub-contract requirements, labour input, consumable parts, tooling and OEM replacement parts
  • Liaise with other departments and the OEM as required ensuring customer requirements are met
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvements and team efficiency and recommend appropriate actions
  • Provide day to day engineering support for process centres.  Evaluate the problem recommend solution or appropriate repair scheme
  • Identify new repair processes and techniques to reduce turn times
  • Ensure that all components are routed to the optimum repair scheme
  • Establish and develop new repair schemes, identifying the costs and business benefits seeking approval from OEM
  • Design tooling to reduce turn times and improve the repair process, co-ordinate commissioning of new processes.  Highlight and ensure production teams are aware of additional training requirements
  • Liaise with sub-contractors/.suppliers on quotations.  Provide technical audit of processes and controls relevant to the technical instructions provided
  • Preparation of non-core work instructions/schedules and repair schemes

Skills required:

  • Awareness of health and safety considerations.
  • You will possess excellent eye for detail
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, these are required as this job entails daily contact with all personnel including supervisory and management staff
  • Have good written communication skills enabling you to complete reports
  • You must be able to explain problems and how they were dealt with clearly and concisely

  • Be able to make objective decisions using evidence and data
  • Once trained you will be able to work effectively when supervised, with the flexibility to work on your own initiative when required
  • You must be able to work flexibly in respect of requirements of the post
  • Demonstrate an interest and commitment to further training and personal development
  • Be a rounded individual participating in activities and interests on a personal level

Qualifications required:

  • Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE’s with grades above C (4)
  • This must include maths and English
  • A Science based GCSE will be looked upon favorably
  • A BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering will be advantageous
