A fantastic opportunity in which you will learn how to inspect, prepare, service, test and repair a wide range of extremely complex powered mobility aids, to include scooters, wheelchairs and stairlifts. You will join a small but close-knit technical team and will carry out your duties both in the workshop, and where necessary on customer premises.

Duties will include:

  • Be able to work in accordance with company safety procedures and follow Health and Safety legislation
  • Read and interpret relevant data and documentation used to prepare and install equipment
  • Select and use a range of tools in order to carry out mechanical, electrical and electronic repair to equipment
  • Competently complete inspection and compliance documentation
  • Assist in identifying root causes of problems and work with the technical team to solve them
  • Report to your line lead in accordance with company procedures
  • Portray excellent customer service whilst dealing with clients in the showroom and, in the case of stairlift installation and servicing, at their own premises
  • Support the technical team as and when required

Skills required:

  • You will have a good level of dexterity and hand skills
  • Your logical approach to problem solving will enable you to perform to make a good contribution to all aspects of the job
  • You need to be able to learn through instruction and experience
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence (Essential)

Personal qualities:

  • Your motivation and drive are the assets that will be best appreciated. 
  • You will need good communication skills as you will develop into a role where the ability to communicate on a technical level with peers, management and customers is a crucial skill
  • You will need to be open minded and willing to develop your knowledge and skills to support your future development

Qualifications required:

  • 3 GCSE's at grade C or above (or equivalents) to include Math’s and English
  • Additionally a science or engineering qualification is highly desirable
  • Any engineering experience or qualifications will be looked upon favorably
