Working alongside the office manager supporting the team and clients requirements at all times. This position would suit a young school or college leaver with a bright, bubbly personality who engages well at all levels and is keen to work within a care environment. This is a key role providing administrative support to maintain the smooth running of the office. This role has the potential to lead into a very successful career within the organization for the right applicant.

The apprentice will receive full training and support.

Duties will include:

  • Opening the post and distributing to the appropriate member of office staff
  • Filing of all paperwork in Care Worker and Service User files
  • Archiving
  • Verifying care worker timesheets on the in-house computer system
  • Entering visit times on the call monitoring system for Service Users that do not have or do not allow the use of their telephones
  • Recording information from the daybook and the on call book onto our in house computer system
  • Answering the telephone
  • Photocopying
  • Sending Faxes
  • Maintaining and updating confidential office files
  • Taking minutes at staff meetings
  • Greet visitors to the office
  • Provide other related duties as required

Other information:

  • This position would suit an individual who has a keen interest in business administration
  • Full on the job training will be given with the opportunity for further academic/external training for the suitable candidate.
  • A professional environment with a “family” feel about it

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office an advantage
  • Must have excellent IT skills and the confidence to take on and use new systems
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Keyboard skills
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Able to follow and carry out simple instructions
  • Able to interact well with people and work as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and to agreed time scales
    Willing to train to obtain further experience and qualifications

Qualifications required:

  • Math and English Language at Grade C/4 or above


  • Staff Room facilities
  • 20 days paid holiday, plus 8 statutory days holiday
