Act as the first point of contact with the customers, portraying professionalism and confidence that delivers the ultimate in customer service; to build and maintain an active customer base to support the external team and develop new sales. The Internal Sales Apprentice will capitalise on commercial opportunities through negotiation of prices in order to achieve the sales targets set by the Management Team.

Action Pumps Ltd is friendly customer focused business; they are company that specialises in the manufacture of packaged pump sets for pressure boosting and water transfer applications. They build installation and maintain a range of pumps assemblies.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with all types of sales enquiries
  • Assisting with all types of general enquiries
  • Processing orders received from customers
  • Sending orders to suppliers
  • Learning product selection software
  • Product selection using various tools provided
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers and suppliers
  • Maintain data in the company computer system
  • Carry out duties to achieve the overall objectives and goals of the Sales Department
  • To perform other duties as and when required
  • To deputise for absent staff within the organisation
  • Dealing with customer and supplier enquiries
  • Reacting to any changes in customer demands
  • Maintaining relationships with existing customers while seeking new ones

Other information:

  • The position is based in Waterlooville you must be able to get to work reliably
  • The company wants you to buy into their work philosophy
  • This role will could involve some travel to client sites (with colleagues).
  • Being keen and enthusiastic is more important your current level of skill/knowledge

Throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship you will be required to attend one of PETA training centres for off-the- job training.  The majority of training will be completed with your employer at your place of work.

You will work towards the following qualifications:

  • Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship standard
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths if required

 

Skills required:

  • You excellent communication skills will enable you to develop into a role where the ability to effectively communicate on a technical level with peers and management is crucial.
  • Your logical approach to problem solving will enable you to make a good contribution to all aspects of the job
  • Have a good level of IT literacy, competent using MS Office

  • Willing to share ideas as well as respect and learn from others.
  • Positive attitude combined with a willingness to persevere with challenging assemblies
  • You will be a highly motivated team player
  • A flexible attitude to work and be willing to use your own initiative.

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths, English at Grade C (4) or above
