This role will involve efficiently and responsively co-ordinate and carry out various administration and sales tasks. Also supporting the Managing Director with a range of administration functions relating to sales. A perfect position for someone who wishes to break in to the world of administration with a friendly and supportive environment.

Duties will include:

The main focus of this role is within sales, supporting with administration functions primarily using the Production Control Software, Progress Plus. 

Your main tasks will be as follows:

  • Preparation of quotations
  • Data entry of customer and order details onto Progress Plus
  • Creating part numbers
  • Adding technical drawing to Progress Plus
  • Scanning orders
  • Using spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
  • Answering incoming calls and directing to the appropriate member of staff or taking messages accordingly
  • General office duties including filing, archiving and any other administrative functions to support the company as required

There will be times when you will need to provide admin support for other areas within the business or take minutes for meetings.

Other information:

  • During the first 15 months you will complete:
    • Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard

Skills required:

  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Excel would be an advantage
  • Good level of English and Maths
  • Confidence to answer the telephone and learn the correct way to answer a call professionally

Personal qualities:

  • Being technically minded may be an advantage as there is a requirement to deal with technical drawings
  • Work well under some pressure
  • A desire to learn and progress
  • Quick learner / worker

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English grade A*-C (4-9) is essential for this role


  • 20 days paid holiday and 8 statutory days holiday
  • Free on-site car parking

Future Prospects:

  • Progression to other roles is a possibility upon successful completion of the programme e.g. Sales and marketing
