An Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career with a salaried job and free training.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving financial services company based in central Chichester. You will be assisting with the efficient administration of life insurance proposals and resulting liaison with the customer, Life Office and agents whilst providing excellent and effective Customer Service.

We are a financial services company, one the biggest of this type in the UK. Established in 1990, we now employ just over 100 people in our Chichester offices. We have won awards for our services and are respected as a leader in our market.

We specialise in Life Insurance and Protection Products. We don’t sell pensions or investments, just policies that pay out in the event of a death or critical illness. We provide IT and support services to lots of other organisations, or to people who wish to buy direct with no advice. We work with Confused.com and More Than as well as Financial Advisers. What we do is handle the applications, making sure that all the information required by the actual insurance company is collected and that the important policy is provided for our customers requiring that financial safety net. Our aim is to “make life simple”, i.e. making it easy, quick and straight forward to apply for Life Insurance and/or Protection Products.

We have retained a sense of being a small company where every member of staff can make a difference. There is pioneering atmosphere, this means there is not just a “can do” attitude, but a “let’s do it right here and now” approach. So, if someone has an idea, an innovation or even a problem it’s sorted as quickly as we can. This leads to a fast paced, rapidly evolving and developing company with motivated people.

Duties will include:

This role will include helping with opening, sorting and distribution of post, administration duties such as checking completeness of records and updating our database accordingly and some telephone work.

The job involves assisting in overseeing the complete administration of life insurance proposals including the liaison with the customer, life office, surgeries and agents.

We receive life insurance applications via an online route and it comes through to Administration for us to process.

The Insurer decides if they can accept the proposal with no further information and if not, what further details they require.

They may decide to write to the client's GP for a report on their medical background or ask the client to visit a doctor to have a medical examination carried out.  They may just need the client to complete a questionnaire regarding a particular area of concern.  In any event, the life company will advise us of their requirements and we need to write to the client/agent to request this information from them.

If the life company does not need any further information, or once they have received all the information they have requested, they make an underwriting decision.  If they can accept the proposal, they send "acceptance terms" which advises that the proposal has been accepted and confirms the policy details.  We then liaise with the client and agent in order to start the policy.
