Duties will include:

To support the company’s growth strategy a decision has been made to recruit a Business Administration assistant Apprentice within our Transport Desk team. They will play a key role in assisting the Transport Manager in everyday responsibilities, to ensure that the transportation process and legal requirements are kept in place and to a timely manner. Preferably applicants will have an interest in Transportation and logistics, and have some knowledge of Microsoft applications.

This is an ideal position staring at the very beginning with the opportunity to grow and develop further your knowledge within this field.

  • To support in all aspects of office administration, filing, shredding, photocopying, manage meetings, post and internal computer systems.
  • To plan transport routes and manage drivers time sheets and Taco-graph reports
  • Routing, planning and preparation of driver routes
  • Working with and learning all about relevant legal requirements and documentations – VOSA, Customs and Excise
  • To learn all about and eventually have a common understanding of the trading and transport laws within the Channel Islands
  • To learn about and eventually have a common knowledge of the geography of the UK along with transport links
  • To eventually work towards a long term career in Account Management within the Transport desk team
  • Managing controlled waste assignments

Skills required:

  • Experience of Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn
  • A keen interest to learn about official processes and legal documentation
  • An interest in Transport and logistics
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and passionate
  • Dynamic and flexible can do attitude
  • Ability to work with and support a team
  • Some previous Customer Experience would be an advantage

Qualifications required:
