An Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career with a salaried job and free training. This position will cover administration duties, managing client and staff visits. Switchboard management and directing calls to the appropriate person. Dealing with office outgoing post and completing daily administration duties.

Task Welding was established in 1979, By John Wells in the South of England Titchfield Hampshire, focusing on specialist Marine Welding.

Since 1979 Task has changed and grown…finally outgrowing its Premises in Titchfield 91’ moving to new premises in Hilsea, Portsmouth, now employing 10-13 coded welders/ 3 office staff /3 machinist / 2 in house welding inspectors /production and workshop manager plus 2 new welding apprentices every year.

Since 1979 Task has moved into other sectors of engineering e.g. Subsea, Marine, Structural Fabrication and Fabricated Pipe Sections. Working alongside customers who have depended on us over the years.

Duties will include:

We are looking for an Apprentice Office Administrator to join our team and build a solid career base within our busy environment. Duties include;

  • Sending/logging of outgoing Post
  • Answering and transferring calls
  • Maintaining stationery stock and stock cupboard
  • Arranging and logging shipment of goods to and from clients and suppliers
  • Maintaining printer stock
  • Monitor office refreshments and supplies and record requirements
  • Printing and binding important documents, catalogues, manuals etc
  • Search and procurement of supplies and products
  • Processing forms
  • Learning and practicing document control
  • Creating documents
  • Filing
  • Checking invoices

Skills required:

  • Computer Literate
  • Ideally some working knowledge of Microsoft Packages, Excel in particular.

Personal qualities:

  • Confident
  • Smart
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum grade C - A (4 – 9) in Maths and English or equivalent
