An Apprenticeship which develops in all areas of business and office activities. This job role will support in areas of administration and daily office co-ordination.To assist and support fee earners with the management of their caseload of residential property transactions from exchange of contracts through to completion and post-completion.

To provide a high level of service to clients by actioning legal procedures as directed by the fee earner.

Duties will include:

  • The main duties will include: administrative responsibilities and file preparation after exchange has taken place; completion day procedures; submitting and paying stamp duty land tax; registration with the HM Land Registry; and finalising any post-registration matters, including assisting with file closing procedures.
  • To work efficiently as an assistant within the post-exchange/completions team with minimal supervision
  • Proactively communicate with the fee earner and other members of the post-exchange/completions team
  • To integrate and communicate with the legal cashier and accounts department
  • To help with any relevant administrative duties to assist the fee earner or department to work efficiently
  • Utilise the firm’s case management system and accounts package
  • Comply with all principles, procedures and standards set by the firm in the office manual
  • To understand the obligations set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Conveyancing Quality Scheme Protocol at all times
  • To ensure compliance with the Council of Mortgage Lender’s Handbook and any other specific mortgage lender requirements
  • To abide by and be vigilant in respect of Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and guidelines

  • Ability to keep calm and work under pressure and to deadlines
