This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Administrator within a professional and growing medical centre based in Portsmouth. Responsible to the Practice Manager you will be assisting in all aspects of administration as well as acting as an additional point of contact with the PCSE.

Duties will include:

  • To assist with all aspects of the administration of the Practice
  • To answer incoming calls to the practice from patients and other health care providers.
  • To work alongside and assist the Operations Manager and Operations Assistant with regards to Quality Outcome Framework, searches and audits
  • To act as an additional point of contact with the PCSE with regard to Registration Links, etc.
  • Responsible for logging in the patient’s registration computer record
  • Act as additional point of contact for the chronological revision of incoming medical records and the summarising and filing of these records
  • Act as additional point of contact to maintain a list of patients deducted from the practice patient list for the PCSE and return medical records together with computer print out
  • Additional help and support for logging of and photocopying of medical reports and requests for medical records.
  • Amend records in accordance with changes to patient’s details as advised.
  • Liaise with other health care providers regarding patient care, as appropriate.
  • Support and assist other team members to develop the quality of service provided by the practice.
  • Read the protocol that supports the proper reporting of child protection

Skills required:

  • Audio typing/keyboard skills essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access etc preferred
  • Accuracy to detail is extremely important
  • Work to the practice's confidentiality procedure
  • Communicate effectively with other team members
  • Communicate effectively with patients and all other customers

Personal qualities:

  • Recognise people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE’s 9-4 grades in English and Maths
