This is an exciting opportunity to join Vale Southern Construction as an Apprentice Office Administrator. Duties will include general administration with an emphasis on communication skills.

Duties will include:

  • Answer telephone and transfer to appropriate staff members
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including email
  • Sign for and distribute UPS/FedEx or similarly delivered packages
  • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine enquiries
  • Work alongside  the surveying and contracts team updating records and filing
  • File and retrieve organisational documents, records and reports
  • Matching delivery notes to invoices on a weekly basis
  • Maintain the photocopier, i.e. checking daily that paper trays are full and giving readings to Apogee when required
  • Keep the sub-contractor database updated with telephone numbers and emails of new contractors
  • Send new drawings to site managers and keep a drawing register for each contract on the system

  • Competent at using Microsoft Word and Outlook

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE’s A*-C / 9-4 grades in English and Maths desirable


  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
  • Office shut down over Christmas (using 3-4 days holiday)
