This is fabulous position for someone wishing to break into customer services within a busy and proactive sales environment. Working alongside our friendly and vibrant sales team, we are looking for a committed individual who is keen to learn. Someone who is a great communicator, has an excellent eye for detail and really wants an opportunity to prove themselves and succeed.

As one of the largest independent flower importers in the UK we supply 1000's of varieties of fresh flowers and foliage from countries all over the world along with seasonal British flowers. We service the UK wholesale, multiple packers and Internet business markets, along with many customers in Europe and the Rest of the World

Duties will include:

Customer Communication

  • Answering the phone, passing on messages and taking simple order requests
  • Interacting with customers via email
  • Developing relationships with customers, spotting opportunities for sales growth and raising these with the Sales Managers
  • Issuing general customer communications such as promotional offers to the customer distribution list
  • Maintaining the customer distribution list

Weekly Sales Meetings

  • Attending and providing input to the weekly Sales Meeting
  • Creating and issuing the agenda
  • Taking and issues the minutes

Managing Samples

  • Keeping track of when and why samples are expected into the office
  • Preparing samples for a vase life test and taking relevant photos
  • Preparing a samples report sheet with relevant information and issuing to Sales Team for feedback, chasing as appropriate
  • Collating and sending feedback to Heads of Purchasing, Sales and Colombian office
  • Advising the relevant buyer of samples conclusions from the weekly Sales Meeting
  • Disposing of old samples and ensuring vases are clean

General Administrative Tasks

  • Inputting emailed customer orders to Florisoft
  • Investigating and resolving distribution discrepancies, referring to the Purchasing Team as appropriate
  • Requesting Transflor to carry out quality checks on product suspected to be substandard due to age or customer intelligence and passing any relevant feedback onto the rest of the Sales Team and Claims
  • Issuing the customer invoices daily (for UK and BV) once sales have finished, prices are all confirmed as correct by the Sales team and Transflor have confirmed no discrepancies
  • Producing Sales and Profit information for the Sales Managers, as required
  • Pulling customer data together for Sales Managers before a customer visit
  • Undertaking any other task reasonably requested of them
  • Filing, faxing, printing, scanning, photocopying, responding to emails
  • Ordering office stationery and other supplies

Skills required:

  • Highly computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office applications
  • Good communication skills, face to face, telephone, in writing or on digital platforms
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Time-management, for example, raising issues in timely manner and working effectively

Qualifications required:

GCSE Maths and English grade A*-C / 4-9 is preferred but not essential
