HB Hydraulic Engineering Limited are seeking an Administration Assistant Apprentice to support and assist in all office duties.

HB Hydraulic Engineering is a service registered Company providing on-site specialist engineering support to marine and associated land based equipment. We can provide 24/7 support using our experienced team of mobile based engineers to fault find/troubleshoot, service & overhaul hydraulic, mechanical & electrical equipment.

Duties will include:

Assist in general office administration as required, but not limited to;

  •  Answering incoming telephone calls and re-directing accordingly as required
  • Preparation of client quotations
  • Preparation of Test Certification (using templates provided)
  •  Preparation of purchase orders using Sage
  • Preparation of site task packs (includes, preparing Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Job Cards etc – from templates provided)
  • Booking courier collections
  • Booking staff accommodation & flights
  • Assist with Security Clearance Forms
  • Control of goods received in accordance to Quality Procedures
  • Recording and record keeping of calibration documentation
  • Working with spreadsheets using excel
  • Assist Commercial Manager with HR duties
  • Assist with Archive Controls

Additional Information:

  • Competences for Personnel are to be recorded on employees Training Records and reviewed during Management Review Meetings.

Skills required:

  • Computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet targets
  • An awareness/working knowledge of Quality, Health & Safety Management Systems, preferred but not essential

Personal qualities:

  • Able to work as part of a team in the management and organisation of the office environment
  • Be flexible, adaptive and creative
  • Be efficient in the support of senior staff and colleagues
  • Have a good telephone manner
  • Always be polite and courteous to Company clientele

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A*-C (Grade 4 to 9) including English and Maths
