Duties will include:

This is primarily a customer service role, being the first point of contact for customers coming through the door and providing an excellent service to throughout their time within the Sure Start centre.

  • Present a welcome, polite, happy to help front reception desk
  • Answer the telephone, connect calls and take messages
  • Assist visitors and centre users
  • Process payments from customers
  • Set up and dismantle room bookings
  • Provide support to the weekly Stay & Play group
  • Ensure security protocols are followed restricting access to the nursery
  • Adhere to Park Families policies

Customer accounts:

  • Enter customer invoices to the SAGE system
  • Process customer receipts (at POS)

Front of house/reception:

  • Liaise with Finance Deputy to assist with the smooth running of the centre
  • Ensure rooms are set up and ready for use each day
  • Complete stock controls and place orders as needed
  • General admin duties within the office to support the customer delivery of service
  • Liaise with centre 3rd party users to ensure daily operating needs met

Skills required:

  • A willingness to learn and progress
  • Good attention to detail
  • Accuracy skills are key in this role
  • Empathy skills

Personal qualities:

  • Good with people and the ability to make people feel at ease
  • The ability to think on your feet and take the initiative

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s including Maths, English and Science at grade A*-C or equivalent


  • 20 days paid holiday and 8 statutory days holiday
