Pompey in the Community (Charity Number 1126118) is the charitable arm of Portsmouth Football Club offers coaching, education, inclusion and health activities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated business admin Apprentice to support our thriving charity.

Duties will include:

To work on the busy front desk supporting our Community Administrator as well as supporting the National Citizen Service Team, printing requirements as well as PFC match day duties.

  • To offer support to the Community Administrator in connection to the duties of this post
  • Dealing with incoming telephone calls, taking detailed messages and course bookings
  • To support the NCS team in the coordination, delivery and implementation of the National Citizen Service programme in the district.
  • To assist with the recruitment of young people in accordance with the guidelines laid out in the NCS contract.
  • To assist with the marketing of the NCS project within schools, other educational providers and youth settings and work with colleagues to ensure that the programme is promoted at every available opportunity.
  • To support with printing requirements; children’s match day programme, leaflets, flyers, etc
  • To assist with data collection and reporting processes and input data onto the Salesforce Data Collection portal
  • To input data into Views evaluation system to support the Views Manager
  • To work alongside the education and sports coaching team to support in all other department projects as required
  • To work on the PiTC front desk and assist the match day coordinator with all duties connected to Portsmouth Football Club match days – welcoming mascots, preparing rooms, supporting with charity collectors and the many other tasks required on a busy match day. You will also have the opportunity to attend home matches.
  • To complete all coursework and assignments as required to fulfil the apprenticeship requirements and to attend all required training
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post

Pompey in the Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and employees to share this commitment. This role involves work with young people and is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Clearance through The FA DBS system is required. As such this post is exempt for the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and the applicant must disclose all previous convictions including spent convictions. Two written references will also be required. Applicants will, in addition be expected to undertake training appropriate to the role.

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s including Maths, English and Science at grade A*-C or equivalent
