The Procurement Assistant will assist with tasks and actions for both purchasing and the wider supply chain team (based in Southampton and Rugby).

Duties will include:

  • Generate and issue production purchase orders in-line MRP demand and sourcing strategies
  • Generate and issue non-production purchase orders
  • Support development projects and new product introduction (NPI)
  • Expedite late deliveries and keep the MRP system updated with current delivery dates
  • Kanban management, stock replenishment and invoice reconciliation
  • Work with various functional stakeholders in dealing with invoice and/or delivery queries
  • Work with the supplier quality team to help resolve queries on non-conforming material (including scrap disposition and stock adjustments)
  • Reporting of monthly/quarterly metrics
  • Liaise with suppliers and collect and maintain relevant compliance data
  • Input and maintain master data within the ERP system
  • Monthly credit card reconciliation

Other information:

  • Experience in an office-based environment would be advantageous but not essential

Skills required:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Thorough attention to detail including an ability to deal with technical information
  • IT literate and knowledge of MS Office
  • Good numerical data handling

Personal qualities:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates a can-do attitude and an eagerness to learn
  • Self-confident and able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A*-C (Grade 4 to 9) including English and Maths


  • 25 days holiday
