An Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career with a salaried job and free training.

You will be providing support to School users to ensure IT equipment and infrastructure is in working order. You will get to know the workings of a school network and the systems used to administrate it.

You will learn how to best troubleshoot and diagnose issues, assisting with resolutions.
Our team is responsible for the IT of Testwood School. Testwood is a co-ed secondary Academy located in Totton for 11-16 years old. Ofsted rated “Good”.

Duties will include:

This role is to provide support to the IT Support team in assisting staff, students and visitors with IT related queries and issues.

  • Ensure that computers are operational at the start of each day and recording any problems and rectifying them
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of hardware
  • Assist in maintaining a list of software available
  • Assist in the evaluation of new software and services
  • Troubleshoot problems which staff have experienced and resolve where possible-this covers basic maintenance
  • Identify when stocks of computer consumables reach re-order levels and order fresh supplies
  • You will report to the Network Manager who will be point of contact for all queries/issues.

Qualifications required:

  • English C+ (4+) or equivalent
  • Maths C+ (4+) or equivalent
