This Apprenticeship opportunity will provide you with online vintage fashion experience from mentors that have been in the business for many years and have a great amount of knowledge to share. The role will be varied, exciting and never dull.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Seamstress of Bloomsbury, a thriving family-run online business and wholesalers that stock the complete and latest range of 1940s and 1950s style dresses. Vintage inspired clothing is available in a range of beautiful colours, styles and sizes.

Duties will include:

  • Website maintenance, adding and updating product details and availability
  • Communicating with customers via email and messenger
  • Implementing social media strategies via Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr
  • Managing and updating client databases
  • Creating and monitoring email campaigns via mailchimp
  • Analysing the effectiveness of all marketing strategies and finding new/better ways of marketing to our new and existing customers
  • Physical stock control including printing, picking and packing orders
  • Dealing with returns including steaming and repacking
  • Designing product adverts and specification sheets
  • General office administration
  • Visiting trade events including fashion shows and exhibitions

Other information:

  • During the first 15 months you will complete the Level 3 IT User Apprenticeship framework

Skills required:

  • Proficieny in MS Office, Outlook and social media platforms
  • Experience at talking to customers and clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload

  • Keen to learn

  • Innovative, confident and proactive
  • Interest in IT, websites and social media
  • Desirable interest in clothing or vintage fashion
  • Flexible attitude towards completing a range of online and offline tasks
  • Positive attitude towards all aspects of work

Qualifications required:

  • A-C (4-9) grade for Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent


  • Progression routes within the company for the right candidate
  • Working at London Fashion week / vintage clothing events
  • Working in a relaxed, quirky and vintage inspired office environment
