An Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to start or develop your career with a salaried job and free training.

CNS is looking for an apprentice to join the Development Team. Applicants will be considered for back end and front end coding. Previous experience in coding in JAVA is preferable for back end, or a mix of front end technologies HTML/XML/CSS/Java Script/REACT/Angular etc.

As a Level 4 Software Developer Apprentice, you will be coding on a range of CNS software products that facilitate the visibility and movement of cargo in the supply chain. CNS is currently delivering an ambitious program of projects, which will provide the successful candidate with variation and plenty to get their teeth into. This is an exciting and challenging role embracing modern technologies such as REACT, Docker and Kubernetes.

CNS is an IT services business processing customs clearance and other regulatory and commercial information for over 100 locations around the UK, including links to Customs for FedEx, UPS and TNT. CNS’s systems provide real time clearance of cargo without which it’s maritime and air customers’ freight cannot move. CNS customs links are a pre-requisite for the movement of cargo through our parent company, DP World Southampton. IT systems provided by CNS are an intrinsic part of controlling the operational flow of containers through the port. Our other customers include London Container Terminal, DP World London Gateway and FEDEX.
