As a Maximo Data Analyst Apprentice your job role will be to support the department in maintaining, and updating records, certificates and planned maintenance systems.

We are the main link between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. Every year, we carry over 4.5 million passengers, making us one of the UK’s largest domestic ferry operators. We provide Island residents with an easy and frequent service to the mainland, as well as giving millions of holidaymakers a taste of Island life. Crossings take approximately 22 minutes by FastCat and from 40 minutes by car ferry. And we operate three convenient routes and over 45,000 crossings a year. Duties will include:

  • To ensure that all information is administered correctly onto the system
  • To assist in the development of planned maintenance systems
  • To learn the Maximo software and designed application within it
  • To update applications with Planned Maintenance routines, including changes to the frequencies of them
  • To provide support to all internal system users
  • To monitor key metrics such as outstanding work orders and overdue safety critical maintenance
  • To assist the Company Maximo Architect with development and change management, acting as their deputy and key assistant
  • To complete training as and when required
  • To maintain a high standard of individual performance in terms of accuracy of data input / data analysis and effective written/oral communication skills
  • To maintain files and documentation

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic to learn and participate in the development of existing practices and procedures. They will possess the ability to communicate and interact confidently with representatives from both the internal (technicans) and external environment

Skills required:

  • Basic knowledge of computer packages including MS Word and Excel
  • Software and application programming skills
  • Customer care skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Awareness of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Able to communicate clearly
  • Interest in planning
  • Interest in the overall running of a busy operational site

Qualifications required:

  • Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or above
