Due to continued growth and expansion, we have a vacancy for an Apprentice IT Service Desk Technician. Our Service Desk Technicians are some of the most important roles within the company and key to our service delivery to our customers.

Cowley Computer Solutions was established in 2004 we provide IT solutions for Business. We have a team of experienced technicians that provide support and service for small business computer systems. We are based in Havant in Hampshire and support customers in a wide variety of business sectors covering a Hampshire, West Sussex and Dorset. We use the latest technology and tools to deliver our services remotely and at customer sites.

Duties will include:

The position is mostly office based providing support to customers using remote access technologies and telephone, but you will be expected to travel to customer sites as required.

Tasks will include:

  • Dealing with ticketed IT enquiries from our customers
  • Keeping a professional relationship with our customers to resolve IT issues in a timely manner
  • Triaging problems and passing to the appropriate member of IT Service team
  • Fault resolution

Additional Information:

  • You will be trained on the work process and ticketing system
  • Ongoing training and development will be given

Skills required:

  • You will need good interpersonal skills be a good communicator with the ability to schedule and prioritise your workload 
  • You will have good key skills and some basic IT or computer training
  • Logical problem-solving skills
  • Driving license would be an advantage – occasional working outside of office is required upon completion of draining; driver with own car is highly desirable for future company prospects
  • Driven attitude towards work
  • Customer facing skills – previous experience in customer service is advantageous

  • We require a team player who has a true interest in technology and IT support and drive to increase their knowledge
  • The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to work with tenacity to solve problems
  • You must be able to receive and carry out instructions
  • Professional attitude
  • Able to take ownership for work assigned to you

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade A*-C (Grade 4 to 9) including English and Maths
  • Level 3 ICT qualification is desirable
